Measure out how you want the frame of the barn door to be.
Attach rails to stiles using pocket hole jig.
Clamp the dowel in place then nail it.
A good measurement is 3 inch top and bottom with 2 inch side pieces for a smaller door but you can use wider pieces for a larger door.
If you want a barn door for your home look at old doors as possibilities.
To do this measure the door lengthwise and score a line across the bottom.
We removed the existing doors and filled the screw holes with wood putty.

You ll need a set of sliding door hardware as well as a door that s large enough to cover your opening.
Use a template to mark the holes for your door hardware then drill the holes making sure to hold the drill perpendicular to the floor.

Trim along this score line using a circular saw for a precise.
